Luisa Maria Lamprea Barragan is admitted to practice law in Colombia and New York.  Ms. Barragan holds an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from The George Washington University Law School, where she received the GW Law Merit Scholarship. While in Law School, she was an LL.M. Representative at the International Law Society, she worked in D.C. on U.S. trade sanctions disputes. Following her graduation, she clerked at the Office of the Attorney General in Maryland.

Originally from Colombia, she has advised businesses on cross-border disputes, business and employment litigation, and international negotiations, including a successful breach of contract settlement with Chinese suppliers and the drafting of an international donation contract between the French and Colombian governments. Ms. Barragan has experience in both Civil and Common Law systems, and she has worked in both the private and public sectors, including in-house roles, which gives Ms. Barragan a broad perspective in the legal field.

Luisa is also committed to pro-bono work, using her legal expertise to support entrepreneurs and underserved communities in Colombia and New York City.

Ms. Barragan joined Cooper Erving & Savage LLP in December 2024 and has contributed to strengthening one of the firm’s core practice areas: employment law and civil rights litigation.
